WINGATE, N.C. (Men’s Lacrosse) – Florida Tech midfielder Andrew Conley was named All-Deep South Conference Honorable Mention Tuesday morning. The honor comes on the heels of the program’s inaugural season this spring.
A business administration major from Orlando’s Boone High School, he finished his freshman season as FIT’s second-leading goal scorer with 18 goals in 14 games. He also recorded three assists for 21 points. He picked up 16 ground balls and led the squad in shots (79) and shots on goal (46).
In the team’s first-ever win against Shorter on March 17, he strapped on the goalie pads when starting goalie Mason Cook received a penalty in the fourth period. He made one save and his determination helped the team pull out a 15-13 victory.
He capped off the year by scoring three goals along with an assist in the Panthers’ season finale last Wednesday at DSC foe Florida Southern.
