(Athletics) – Beginning of every week this year, Panther fans will get a glimpse of the upcoming week with our "Panther Weekly Update", a new addition to Florida Tech Sports coverage. Each feature will preview all the week's upcoming events for our sports teams. This week, fall sports: soccer, football, and volleyball will continue their respective 2016 seasons, while cross country kicks off their 2016 campaign.

Fresh off their season opening victory against Newberry, the Panthers (1-0) host Mississippi College at Florida Tech Panther Stadium on Saturday Sept. 10 with kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m. ET. On Monday, the Panthers made their first ever appearance in the American Football Coaches' Association Division II Poll, coming in at No. 22 in the rankings.

Cross Country
The men's and women's cross country teams open their seasons with a home meet at Wickham Park on Saturday, Sept. 10 at 7:30 a.m. The meet will feature 12 men's teams and 15 women's teams, including every Sunshine State Conference team, Embry-Riddle, Florida Atlantic University, and the University of South Florida.
The men's team comes into the season ranked 4th in the Sunshine State Conference and 10th in the South Region, according to the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
