Swimming Concludes Third Day of SSC Championship

CLEARWATER, Fla. (Men’s and Women’s Swimming) – Florida Tech continued to swim well in day three of the Sunshine State Conference Championship Friday at the Long Center.
The women’s 200-yard medley relay of Allison Randolph, Jenny McAndrews, Madison Hart and Daphne Laino placed fifth, ahead of Saint Leo, at 2:02.74. One day after registering the program’s first NCAA Division II B time, Steven Moodie came in 10th place in the 100-yard butterfly, clocking in at 51.47. Ross Donatelli just missed a top 10 finish in the 100-yard breaststroke with the 11th fastest time of 1:01.01. Kaikea Nakachi was also close to breaking the top 10 in the 100-yard backstroke, stopping the clock at 52.55. “We had a very good day today with several setting new team records,” head coach Jeni Ritter said. “We are excited to swim in the last day of the conference meet.” The SSC Championship will conclude Saturday with the prelims for the 200-yard backstroke, 100-yard freestyle, 200-yard breaststroke, 200-yard butterfly and 400-yard freestyle relay starting at 10 a.m. The finals in the aforementioned events will start at 5 p.m. |
