Registration Underway for Adult and Children’s Swim Lessons

MELBOURNE, Fla. (Men’s and Women’s Swimming) – Florida Tech is offering swim lessons for adults and children from April 10-26 at the Panther Aquatic Center.
Over the 16-day session, children’s swim lessons are scheduled for Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30-6:30 p.m and classes are 30 minutes in length. Adult beginner lessons are from 6:30-7:10 p.m. and adult intermediate lessons are from 7:15-7:55 p.m. The cost for children and adults is $45 for the entire session. Children will be divided into different levels based on swimming skill. Levels range from basic water adjustment and floating in level one to the refinement of all four strokes, diving and an introduction to turns in level six. The maximum amount of participants in each class is five, with multiple classes of the same level offered. For adults, beginner lessons will include the basic fundamentals of swimming, such as floating, treading water, freestyle stroke and holding breath underwater. The intermediate lessons will focus on swimming more efficiently and breathing techniques in order to swim distances. Class sizes for the beginner and intermediate lessons will not exceed eight participants per instructor. The registration deadline for the swim lessons is Wednesday, April 4.
