Cook Earns Program’s First Deep South Conference Award

WINGATE, N.C. (Men’s Lacrosse) – Florida Tech junior goalie Mason Cook was named Deep South Conference Defensive Player of the Week in a vote by the league’s sports information directors on Monday. The weekly award is the first of the program’s inaugural season and the first of his career.
A junior business administration major from Hollywood, Md., he was the defensive leader in the Panthers’ first road win last Friday at Coker. He made 15 saves on 37 shots, helped spoil five extra-man opportunities and scooped two ground balls in the 11-9 victory. The Panthers will travel to Hickory, N.C. to play Lenoir-Rhyne Friday at 7 p.m. Live stats will be available at FloridaTechSports.com. |
