SKILLMAN, N.J. (Women’s Tennis) – Coming off a strong season in singles and doubles, Florida Tech’s Kristina Huba was recently selected the Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s South Region Player to Watch.
The ITA recognized only one student-athlete from each of NCAA Division II’s eight regions. Considering the South Region is one of the most competitive in the nation, this is an impressive honor for the Ascona, Switzerland native, who will begin her junior year this fall. Huba posted a 17-5 record in singles and a 6-2 mark in Sunshine State Conference play. She went 8-4 at the No. 1 spot and 9-1 at No. 2. She also posted a 17-7 record in doubles. With her sister Katarina Huba, the sisters went 15-6 overall in the top spot. In the most recent ITA polls, Huba ranked No. 33 in Division II and No. 10 in the South Region.
