ROME, Ga. (Baseball) – It took only two games in the Gulf Coast League for former Florida Tech shortstop K.C. Clabough to be called up to the Single-A Rome Braves.

The Atlanta Braves’ 28th-round selection in the 2012 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft hit .429 with an RBI and a run scored in seven at-bats. He notched his first RBI of his professional career in his Minor League Baseball debut Tuesday against the GCL Yankees. Two days later against the GCL Phillies, he went 3-for-4 and scored one run.

In two seasons for the Panthers, the Cocoa Beach, Fla. native started all 99 possible games at shortstop. He batted .374 with 135 hits, 29 doubles, five triples, four home runs and 66 RBIs. He drew 41 walks and swiped 61 of 74 bases in his FIT career.
