Fellows, Huba Tabbed Panther Student-Athletes of the Week
MELBOURNE, Fla. (Athletics News) – Florida Tech freshman Steven Fellows and junior Kristina Huba were named this week’s Panther Student-Athletes of the Week for the period of Oct. 8-14 on Monday.
Fellows, an international business major from Aalesund, Norway, headed in the game-winning goal in the 74th minute of the Panthers’ 2-1 win over 10th-ranked Palm Beach Atlantic on Oct. 10. Defensively, he was called on to guard NCAA Division II’s leading scorer Kenny Hogg. Fellows did not allow his counterpart to fire off a single shot as the Panthers tallied their first win over a ranked opponent this season. Huba, a general chemistry major from Ascona, Switzerland, finished third in the singles competition at the United State Tennis Association/Intercollegiate Tennis Association National Small College Championships on Oct. 13. She won 6-2, 6-4 in her opening match of the tournament. Although she was overcome in her second match, she regrouped for a 6-3, 6-1 victory in her last match to claim third place. Fellows and the men’s soccer team will travel to Saint Leo for a non-conference tilt on Wednesday at 5 p.m. Huba and the women’s tennis team have concluded their fall season and are now preparing for their spring campaign starting in February. |
