CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Florida Tech men's rowing opened their 2024-25 campaign at the Head of the Charles Regatta on Sunday afternoon.
Competing in the Men's Championship Fours against a variety of strong Division I opponents, Florida Tech finished in 15th overall in the competition with a time of 16:42.204.
On the three-mile course, Tech was in 17th place at the first checkpoint with a time of 3:53.402. At the second checkpoint, the Panthers moved up to the 14th position with a time of 9:909.238 before sliding to 15th at the third post (13:49.973) where Tech would remain until the finish line.
Washington's "A" boat won the event with a time of 15:34.721, but the Panthers finished ahead of the likes of Wisconsin "A" and Georgetown "A".
COACHES CORNER:
"The guy's fought a tough race against a stiff field of competition," said head coach Adam Thorstad. "It's not every day you get to faceoff with a bunch of Olympians. We're looking forward to working hard for future competitions and meeting our Spring goals."
