MELBOURNE, Fla. (Men's Basketball) – Florida Tech men's basketball juniors Sam Daniel and Jordan Majors have been selected to the 2016-17 All-Sunshine State Conference Teams, announced by the SSC office on Wednesday.
 
Daniel makes his debut on the All-SSC squads as a First Team selection. The Kingsland, Georgia product led FIT, and ranked second in the SSC, in scoring at 20.4 points per game, while shooting .461 from the field, .403 from beyond the arc and .829 at the charity stripe.  
 
The junior set a new school record with 93 three-pointers this year, smashing the old mark of 84 from 2005-06.  He also eclipsed the 1,000-point milestone this season during the Panthers' regular season finale against Palm Beach Atlantic (Feb. 25). Daniel also finished fifth in the league in rebounding with 7.4 per game.
 
Majors garnered the second appearance of his career on the All-SSC teams, earning Second Team honors. He raked in All-Newcomer Team and Freshman of the Year honors in 2014-15.  The redshirt-junior ranked fourth in the conference with 19.9 points per game on .460 shooting from the field and, like his teammate, joined the 1,000-point club earlier this season. He made .355 of his three-point attempts and .810 from the free throw line.
 
The Hopkinsville, Kentucky native's 1.9 steals per game and 4.5 assists per game averages ranked third and fifth in the league, respectively. Majors also led the SSC in minutes played at 37.6 minutes per game.
