Jessica Monarch

Jessica monarch

Head Women's Soccer Coach

Jessica Monarch enters her first season as the head coach of the Florida Tech women's soccer team in 2018. She served as the teams assistant coach in the previous three years.

During Jessica's tenure as the Panthers assistant coach, she helped guide the women to a 30-19-5 record and the women's first-ever Sunshine State Conference tournament championship in 2017.

Under her tutelage, a total of six players have earned 15 post season awards. Of the 15 awards, nine are All-SSC selections, one first team and eight second team, and six D2CCA All-South Region honorees, five second team and one third team.

Prior to joining the Panther program, Monarch served for two years as a graduate assistant coach at Belhaven University in a role that very much resembled that of a full-time assistant. Monarch also assisted with the operation of Belhaven's summer soccer camps, all while earning her Master of Science in Sports Administration.

After graduating from Timber Creek High School in Orlando, Monarch played collegiately at Faulkner University in Montgomery, Alabama from 2008-11 where she played in 71 consecutive games, scoring 20 goals and recording eight career assists. She was NAIA All-American Honorable Mention, the Southern States Athletics Conference Defensive Player of the Year and an All-SSAC honoree in 2011. Additionally, Monarch was named the Faulkner Student-Athlete of the Year in 2011 and 2012.

A standout in the classroom, Monarch garnered numerous academic awards during her time at Faulkner. She was a three-time SSAC Academic All-Conference selection, a two-time NAIA Scholar Athlete, a two-time CoSIDA Academic All-District honoree and was twice named Faulkner's Champion of Character winner.

That vast array of experience was one of the primary reasons Monarch was selected from a talented pool of candidates to fill in the final piece of Smith's inaugural staff.

"We are super excited to have the opportunity to bring in someone who not only has great experience playing but has also acquired some experience coaching at a high level," Smith said. "Coming from Faulkner and going to Belhaven, which is a well-respected program, we are excited to have Jessica join our staff and bring important experience."

Julia kantor

Assistant Women's Soccer Coach

Julia Kantor is entering her first season as assistant coach for the Florida Tech women's soccer team. She was a former member of both the Panthers women's soccer and lacrosse team during her undergraduate years.

After graduating from Florida Tech, Kantor was the assistant coach and goalie coach at D-III Washington College where she helped take the Shorewomen from a 5-10-1 record in her first season to 8-6-1, last fall. This was spearheaded by a defensive turnaround that saw the goals against average drop more than an entire goal per game (2.22 in 2016 to 1.12 in 2018).

Julia also served in coaching roles for various club teams and camps since her departure from Florida Tech with the highlight being the head coach for the Bayshore Soccer Club's U-15 Girl's team.

Kantor playing career was just as successful as her young coaching career has been. She was a three-year starter for the Panthers and amassed 28-17-5 record with 26 shutouts.

Many accolades were bestowed upon Kantor during her playing career as she was twice named second team All-SSC (2013, 2015), second team D2CCA All-South Region (2015) and third team NSCAA NCAA Division II All-South Region (2015). She also had the chance to play for the NWSL's Orlando Pride in the spring of 2016.

Julia also played two seasons for the Florida Tech's women's lacrosse program.

Kantor graduated from Eastern Florida State College in 2013 with an associate's degree in Psychology and followed that in 2016 with a B.A. in Sports Psychology from Florida Tech. She is currently pursuing an M.A. in Athletic Administration from Endicott College.
