MELBOURNE, Fla. (Soccer) – The Florida Tech men's and women's soccer teams earned spots in the Sunshine State Conference soccer tournaments and will compete tomorrow, Tuesday, Oct. 31, in the quarterfinal round.
The Lady Panthers, who finished the season 7-7-2 and 4-5-1 in conference play, garnered the No. 6 seed in the championship and will square off against 3-seed Florida Southern at 7 p.m. ET at the Lake Myrtle Sports Park in Auburndale, Florida. Florida Tech fell to the Moccasins, 2-0, in the regular season meeting earlier this month, on Oct. 4, in Auburndale.
The men's soccer team is the No. 5 seed in this year's tournament after posting a record of 9-5, including a 6-4 mark against SSC opponents. The Crimson and Gray will travel to Winter Park, Florida for their second matchup with Rollins College in just seven days. FIT was defeated, 4-2, by the Tars at Barker Family Stadium on Oct. 24. Tuesday's quarterfinal will also begin at 7 p.m.
The women's team is making its fifth straight appearance in the conference tournament, while the men are competing for the fourth consecutive season.
