FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Despite it being a cool fall night down in Fort Lauderdale, Florida the action on the pitch was quite the opposite as Florida Tech men's soccer (10-4-1) duked it out with Nova Southeastern (12-3-1). It was an exciting match but in the end, late goals in both periods sunk Florida Tech as they fell, 3-0.
The first half kicked off with both attacks vying for supremacy. This lead to them going shot for shot with each other as the two teams combined for 15. Unfortunately for the Panthers, the one-shot advantage for the Sharks yielded the only goal as the final shot of the half found the back of the net.
However, that wasn't the only action of the first 45 as it was a physical battle too that produced 11 fouls and three yellow cards.
Per Henrik Nag was the lone Panther to garner a yellow while two Nova players got the card flashed their way.
The second half started out with Florida Tech getting a few good chances but none better than a slow roller only seven minutes in that beat the goalie but pinged off the post.
But the momentum shifted towards the Sharks late in the half as a penalty kick by Nova's Darwin Lom (9) put the score at 2-0. A minute later, Bradley Fountain (7) notched the final goal of the night as NSU defeated Florida Tech 3-0.
The Panthers will have to wait and see if their season continues as they wait for the next installment of the NCAA regional rankings.
