MELBOURNE, Fla. - On Wednesday night, the Embry-Riddle Eagles (20-6, SSC 14-5) routed Florida Tech (11-14, SSC 8-11) in a 59-48 decision at the Clemente Center.
Leading the Crimson and Gray offense, senior Markeema Crawford knocked down 13 points for the Panthers on a 5-for-10 shooting effort from the floor, while recording one assist and two rebounds. Pitching in with eight points, senior DeLise Willians tallied six rebounds and one assist to go with a 4-for-4 performance from the charity strip. Aiding to the Panthers total, junior Gracie Diane added eight points for FIT, while sophomore Gudlaug Juliusdottir sank seven. 
As a team, Florida Tech shot 32.7 percent from the floor, 28 percent from behind the arc and 80 percent from the free-throw line. Additionally, FIT outrebounded ERAU 37-33 and turned 21 Eagles turnovers into 11 points. The Panthers also bested Embry-Riddle-Riddle in points from the bench with a 17-7 edge.
In the first quarter, the teams battled neck-to-neck trading baskets on a constant pace. In a stanza that saw seven lead changes and four ties, sophomore Aniquah Swan broke the balance with 48 seconds remaining to put FIT ahead at the end of the first quarter, 12-11. However, the Eagles rallied back in the second period, and took an 11-5 run to move past Florida Tech at the half, 22-17.
Returning from intermission, ERAU set the pace with five points in the first minute of the third quarter. From there, FIT struggled to make baskets and ERAU eventually outscored the Panthers 19-8 to increase its stretch, 41-25. In the final stanza, Florida Tech raced back and closed the gap by single-digits at the 1:46 mark, which started on a 3-pointer by Crawford. However, the Eagles offense kept FIT scoreless and sank four consecutive baskets to wrap up the win, 59-48.
Next up, Florida Tech will host the Nova Southern Sharks for its last home game of the 2017-2018 season. Prior to the SSC match-up, the team will honor its senior class. Teams will line up at 2:00 p.m. ET.
