MELBOURNE, Fla. – No. 11 Florida Tech softball (22-6, 6-4 SSC) kept the momentum rolling as the team downed Embry-Riddle (12-10, 5-5 SSC), 4-2. This gives the Panthers their third straight win..
Vanessa Rubio led the Crimson and Gray at the plate as she was the only player to get multiple hits in the contest. She went 2-2 with two doubles and two RBIs.
Jaden Kline (1-3, one double, one RBI) and
Mikayla Wessel (1-2, one RBI) helped score the other runs of the night.
Senior ace
Melanie Murphy (10-5) was in the circle for the Panthers and picked up her ninth complete game of the season. Over her seven innings, she surrendered only two runs on eight hits and struck out six.
Florida Tech got on the board early thanks to a Kline double in the top of the first. The Eagles answered in the bottom half of the inning and tied it at 1-1.
The Panthers grabbed the next run to put it at 2-1 when Rubio sent a shot down the left-field line to score
Cheyenne Nelson for the second time. However, their lead was erased quickly as ERAU scored in the bottom portion of the third.

Xiarysse Emerenciana in the fourth.
A sacrifice fly by Wessel, in the sixth, gave the team its final run of the night as
Shanysse Emerenciana crossed home plate. This put the final score of the game at 4-2 in favor of the Panthers.
Florida Tech will look to push its win streak to five on Saturday, Mar. 16, in the doubleheader against the Eagles. First pitch of the Sunshine State Conference showdown is at 1 p.m. ET.
