MELBOURNE, Fla. – No. 10 Florida Tech softball found itself locked into a pitcher's duel as they took on the Sailfish from Palm Beach Atlantic. It was a close game but the Panthers capitalized on PBA's errors to win, 2-1.
 
Melanie Murphy was called upon to start the game and she delivered an excellent performance. The senior ace tossed complete-game No. 12 and surrendered only one run on four hits with seven K's.
 
Florida Tech struck first thanks to a two-out Sailfish error that scored Xiarysse Emerenciana in the bottom of the first inning. However, PBA struck back with a home run, in the top of the second, to make it, 1-1.
 
The final run of the game came in the bottom of the third inning when another Sailfish error aided Rubio across home plate.
 
Florida Tech will look to complete the sweep of Palm Beach Atlantic Saturday, March 30. The doubleheader is set to begin at noon ET at Nancy Bottge Field.
