COACHES CORNER:
"Every game this season we've tried to improve something and get better, and I felt we raised our game again today," said head coach Ryan Moon. "I felt today was a nice reward for the hard work and the performances we've put in recently but maybe just not got over the line. Columbus State are a well-coached team, and we knew it would be a tough game. We also know the confidence we have in what we are doing, and we don't fear any team we play regardless of rankings. We'll be looking to take our momentum into Saturday's conference game which we expect to be another tough battle."

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
  • This is Florida Tech's second ever win over a top-2 ranked opponent. The Panthers other victory was also a 2-1 decision over No. 1 Grand Valley State on Oct. 5, 2016.
  • Tech hands Columbus State its first loss of the season (11-1-1).
  • The Panthers earn their first ever win over the Cougars, moving the series to 1-2-1 all-time.
  • Tech handed CSU its first road loss since the 2019 season, the Cougars were 14-0-2 over that span. It was also the Cougars' first non-conference road loss since Sept. 14, 2016.
  • The Panthers improve to 2-0-1 against ranked opponents this season and 4-0-1 against non-conference opponents.
  • Florida Tech is 4-2-3 in games decided by one goal or less this season.
