STATS OF THE MATCH: 
  • Tech controlled the offensive momentum during the first half, and had an advantage in shots 7-3
  • LR had a quality scoring attempt in the 4' as Neve Duston's free kick from the top of the box beat Maria Sanchez Recuero but knocked off the cross bar 
  • Bryson Boyer had a good chance to score in the 22' but her shot to the right post was stopped by a diving save by Bears goalkeeper Grayson Cameron
  • Both teams fired off six shots in the second half while LR had a 4-2 edge in shots during the two overtime periods
  • Tech finished with an edge in shots 15-13 and shots on goal 9-2
  • LR ended with more fouls 21-19
  • Sanchez Recuero finished with two saves while Cameron had nine saves for the Bears
  • Six yellow cards were handed out during the contest, Tech received four of the cautions

"Tonight was a fantastic test for us," said Ryan Moon. "Lenoir-Rhyne are a great side that are very well coached. I'm proud of our performance defensively and our maturity to manage the game well. We have a strong belief in what we can achieve and we are continuing to build on our performances each week."

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
  • Florida Tech moves to 2-0-1 all-time against Lenoir-Rhyne. The Panthers' previous wins in the series came during the 2010 NCAA Division II Elite Eight (5-4 PKs) and during the 2011 regular season (2-1).
  • This is the first time since 2016 that Florida Tech has started a season undefeated through its first three matches.
  • Sanchez Recuero earned her seventh career clean sheet in the win. 
  • The Panthers have held opponents scoreless for 289 of the 290 minutes played this season.
