FIRST QUARTER:
- Jennifer Boyle opened the scoring with the Panthers' first goal of the season, and the first of her career as a Panther, off an assist from Caroline MacLeod just 1:38 into the game.
- Saints rattled off three straight goals to go ahead 3-1 with 4:07 left in the first quarter.
- Tech answered with three consecutive free position goals by Rachel Johnson, MacLeod and Jennifer Boyle to grab a 4-3 advantage with 38 seconds to go in the quarter.
SECOND QUARTER:
- Niro tallied her second goal of the game just 38 seconds into the second quarter off an assist from Millie Hurt to put Tech up 5-3.
- MacLeod netted her second free position goal of the night to increase the Panthers' lead to 6-3 with 13:43 left in the half.
- Saints scored three consecutive goals to tie the game at 6-6 with 9:32 remaining in the second quarter.
- Kayla Minton ended the Flagler run with her first career goal off an assist from Johnson to give Tech back the lead, 7-6, with 8:49 to go.
- Charlotte Hardie dished out consecutive assists, first finding Hurt for her first goal of the season with 6:33 left before assisting Minton to increase Tech's lead to 9-6 with 4:12 remaining.
- Panthers carried their three-goal advantage into halftime.
THIRD QUARTER:
- Johnson opened the third quarter with consecutive tallies to put Tech up 11-6. She netted her second goal of the night on a woman-up free position try just 51 seconds into the second half and then completed her hat trick on an unassisted goal with 11:44 left in the quarter.
- Niro completed her own hat trick 51 seconds later to push the Panthers' lead to 12-6 with 10:53 to go in the frame.
- Kailee O'Brien got into the mix with her first goal of the season off an assist from Niro to put the Panthers up 13-6 with 10:17 left.
- Saints ended Tech's 7-0 run with 6:12 to go in third to cut the margin to 13-7.
- Niro beat her defender on a roll dodge in front of the Saints net and scored her fourth of the game to give Tech a 14-7 lead with 2:30 remaining in the third.
- Saints added one more late in the quarter and the Panthers took a 14-8 advantage into the fourth.
FOURTH QUARTER:
- Flagler scored consecutive goals to begin the fourth and trimmed Tech's lead to 14-10 with 11:28 to go.
- It looked as though Florida Tech was in trouble after Maggie Reed was dealt a yellow card. However, the Panther defense came up with several key stops and Minton made the Saints pay on the other end with back-to-back woman-down goals to give Tech a 16-10 advantage with 9:33 left. The goals were Minton's third and fourth of the game.
- Saints used three consecutive free position goals to cut the Panthers' lead to 16-13 with 5:07 remaining.
- MacLeod got the Panthers back on the board with her third goal of the game on a free position attempt with 4:19 to go to increase the lead to 17-13.
- Flagler cut the Panthers' lead to 17-15 with 1:13 left on the clock on a free position goal.
- Tech was able to earn a defensive stop in the final minute and then held on for the season-opening win over Flagler.
NOTABLE PANTHERS:
- Kayla Minton recorded 4 goals on 5 shots on goal to go along with 2 ground balls.
- Carly Niro finished with 4 points on 3 goals and 1 assist on 6 shots on goal.
- Caroline MacLeod ended with 4 points on 3 goals and 1 assist in addition to collecting 7 draw controls, 6 ground balls and 1 caused turnover.
- Rachel Johnson recorded 4 points on 3 goals and 1 assist with 5 shots on goal.
- Jennifer Boyle tallied 2 goals and 4 ground balls.
- Millie Hurt recorded 1 goal, 1 assist, 2 draw controls and 1 caused turnover.
- Charlotte Hardie dished out 2 assists and collected 5 draw controls.
- Kailee O'Brien recorded 1 goal, 2 ground balls and 2 caused turnovers.
- Elizabeth Christ had 5 draw controls.
- Cailey Canessa earned her first win in goal in her collegiate debut while making 3 saves against the Saints.
