STATS OF GAME ONE:
- Wilmington was first on the board with an RBI single, but the Panthers answered back plating four in the bottom of the 1st.
- Top of the 3rd, Sara Miller blasted a 2-run home run over the center field wall for WU cutting the deficit, 4-3.
- Ashley Campbell doubled through the left side to plate Victoria Szrom and Ella Gibson. Two batters later, Cheyenne Nelson hit a sacrifice fly to score Campbell. Panthers led 7-3 going into the 4th.
- WU recorded an unearned run in the top of the 5th. Panthers followed with an RBI single by Chloe French to score Mikayla Lewin.
- Tech added three more in the bottom of the 6th on a two-run double to left field by Gibson and a RBI single from Campbell.
- Wildcats solo homered in the top of the 7th to add the final run as the Panthers earned the walk-off win.
- Ashley Campbell went 3-3 with four RBI and one run.
STATS OF GAME TWO:
- A sacrifice fly to right field broke the scoreless tie in the top of the 4th as Haley Downin reached home plate to put WU up, 1-0.
- Whitney Ellis doubled to left field, followed by a sacrifice bunt from Mikayla Wessel to advance Ellis. Next at bat, Cheyenne Nelson, singled to plate Ellis and tie it up, 1-1, in the bottom of the 6th.
- Panthers ended the top of the 7th with a double play to keep WU from scoring.
- The winning run came from an out of the park home run by Victoria Szrom.
- Nelson went 2-3 with one RBI and one stolen base.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- Panthers move to 6-0 all-time against Wilmington (Del.). The teams last meeting was March 6, 2020.
- Szrom's homerun was her second of the season and eighth of her career.
- Campbell went 3-5 with two extra-base hits, four RBI, and one run in the sweep.
- Mikayla Lewin extended her on base streak to seven games.
UP NEXT: Florida Tech is back at home Thursday, March 3 for a non-conference doubleheader against Tiffin (Ohio). First pitch is set for 4 p.m.
