CLEVELAND, Tenn. – The Florida Tech women's soccer team dominated the Rollins Tars, 3-0, in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament on Friday afternoon in Cleveland, Tenn. The Panthers advance to the second round and will take on host, Lee University, on Sunday, Nov. 19.

STATS OF THE MATCH
- The Panthers started early with a shot on target in the opening minute. Katherine Cunningham worked her way up the sideline and took a rip towards the crossbar, but the Rollins keeper was able to leap and just make the save.
- After some back and forth, Lauryn Wood found some space in the box in the 20th minute and took a rip towards the net. The Tars' keeper was able to get a hand on it and deflect it away to keep the match scoreless.
- In the 28th minute, Marem Ndiongue sent a pass up to Josefine Nilsen who beat her defender and the keeper to give Tech a 1-0 advantage.
- The Panthers continued to dominate possession and apply pressure on Rollins' defense. Tech held the Tars to no shots in the first half and went into the halftime locker room with a 1-0 lead.
- Rollins put its first shot of the match on target in the 50th minute, but Panther keeper Ayana Aoyagi was there to stop the shot and preserve the lead.
- In the 67th minute, Ndiongue passed the ball off to Lauryn Wood, who found the back corner of the net to extend Tech's lead to 2-0.
- Shortly after in the 73rd minute, Ndiongue found the back of the net herself to make it a 3-0 match.
- The Panthers continued to dominate possession for the rest of the match. Rollins only managed one more shot in the closing minutes and the match ended with a final score of 3-0.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Florida Tech moves to 4-6-8 all-time in the NCAA Tournament. (Seven for eight in penalty shootouts).
- The Panthers improve to 9-15-4 all-time against Rollins and are now 2-2-0 against the Tars in the NCAA Tournament.
- The 3-0 win was the largest margin of victory for the Panthers in the NCAA Tournament in program history.
- Marem Ndiongue is now the single-season program leader in points (41), goals (16), and assists (9). She also joins Teresa Brantley [Moon] and Keira McCarthy as the only Panthers to accrue 70 points in a career.
- Ayana Aoyagi recorded her eighth shutout of the season. This is the eighth time a Florida Tech keeper has totaled eight shutouts in a single season.
UP NEXT: With today's win, Florida Tech advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament and will take on the host school, Lee University on Sunday, Nov. 19. Opening kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. at the Ray Conn Sports Complex in Cleveland, Tenn.
