WEST PALM BEACH, FLA. – The Florida Tech women's lacrosse team traveled to West Palm Beach on Wednesday night to take on the Palm Beach Atlantic (PBA) Sailfish where the Panthers came out victorious 17-7.
INSIDE THE MATCHUP:

FIRST QUARTER:
- Rachel Johnson was the first to score in the game giving the Panthers an early lead.
- Phoebe Hurt recorded the first point of her collegiate career scoring of an assist from Gabrielle Skowronski which was followed by a goal from Kayla Minton.
- PBA scored its first goal of the contest with 5:34 to go in the first.
- Gillian Craig would go on to score the Panthers fifth goal of the game with Skowronski's second assist of the game.
- Minton's second goal came with 1:53 to go in the first.
- The Panthers would have the 5-1 lead over the Sailfish entering the second quarter.
SECOND QUARTER:
- PBA started off the second by scoring three unanswered goals making it a 5-4 game.
- Craig's second goal put the Panthers back up by two.
- Kailee O'Brien recorded the final goal of the second to as Tech recorded led 7-4 entering halftime.
THIRD QUARTER:
- Jennifer Boyle opened up the second half with an unassisted goal.
- Minton's third goal of the game came assisted from Johnson putting the Crimson and Grey up by five.
- Boyle's second goal of the quarter increased Tech's lead to six.
- Craig's third goal of the contest came off a free position shot with 8:58 to go in the third.
- Scichilone scored unassisted 45 seconds later.
- Phoebe Hurt's second goal of the game came assisted from older sister Millie Hurt to put Tech up 13-4.
- Minton's fourth goal, assisted by Emma Angelo, allowed the Panthers to increase its lead by 10.
- The Sailfish finished the third scoring to bring the game back to within nine.
FOURTH QUARTER:
- Scichilone scored back-to-back goals to open the fourth quarter with an assist from Boyle on the second goal.
- Phoebe Hurt's hat trick goal of the game assisted by Karly Liebendorfer with 3:52 to go in the game put the Panthers up by 12 and a 17-5 lead.
- PBA closed out the game scored two unanswered goals as time expired giving the Sailfish a 17-7 victory.
NOTABLE PANTHERS:
- Kayla Minton led the tea with five points scoring four goals and one assist.
- Phoebe Hurt recorded the first goal, point and hat trick of her career going 3-for3 on shots on goal.
- Scichilone and Craig also each recorded hat tricks for the Panthers.
- Boyle recorded three points from two goals and an assist.
- Millie Hurt, Elizabeth Christ and Carly Niro each recorded team leading two ground balls.
- Christ also led the team with three caused turnovers.
- M. Hurt recorded a team high five draw control wins against the Sailfish.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:
- Florida tech outshot PBA 32-19 with 22 shots on goals to PBA's 15.
- Both teas recorded 16 turnovers.
- PBA went 12-18 on clear attempts while the Panthers went 14-17.
- Tech recorded one more ground ball than PBA at 16-15.
- The Panthers won twice the amount of draw controls as the Sailfish at 18-9.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
- The Panthers are now 6-0 all time against PBA and 2-0 against the Sailfish in West Palm Bay.
