MELBOURNE, Fla. – The Florida Tech women's soccer completed its suspended game against the Rollins Tars on Saturday night but were unable to make the comeback and dropped the match, 1-0.

STATS OF THE MATCH
- Both teams began the match in a battle for possession, trading two shots each in the first 10 minutes of play.
- Marta Llopis saw an opportunity to score for the Panthers in the 16th minute, but her shot rang off the left woodwork and was knocked away by a Tars defender.
- In the 23rd minute, Blaire Pressley found some open space in front of the goal for Rollins, but Kaitlin Sinkler came up big with a save for Tech to keep the match scoreless.
- After some more back and forth for possession, in the 37th minute, Ximena Jauregui took a rip from just outside the box towards the Tars goal, but the keeper was able to safely knock the ball away from the net.
- Rollins threatened in the waning moments of the half with a pair of corner kicks, but the Panthers' defense held strong, and the teams went into halftime tied at 0-0.
- Panther midfielders, Alice Mottershead and Savannah Oxley each put shots on target in the opening minutes of the second half but were unable to find the back of the net.
- In the 54th minute, Kayla Park scored a goal for the Tars to take a 1-0 lead. Just two minutes later, a lightning delay caused the match to be suspended.
- 10 days later, the teams met back up at Stottler Field to resume the match with just under 34 minutes left to play.
- Tech came out with a fire to try and tie the match up, controlling possession for most of the remaining time.
- Katie Ormerod looked to score in the 69th minute with a low rolling shot, but the Tars keeper came up with a sliding save to preserve the lead.
- With time winding down, the Panthers hustled to get more opportunities, but were unable to put another shot on target in the final 15 minutes and the match ended with a final score of 1-0.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Tech moves to 9-16-4 all-time against Rollins, including a 4-6-1 record all-time at home.
- The Panthers outshot the Tars, 14-5.
UP NEXT: The Panthers will travel to West Palm Beach, Fla. on Wednesday, Oct. 9 to take on Palm Beach Atlantic. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.
