MELBOURNE, Fla.- The Florida Tech women's basketball program picked up its ninth win of the season, defeating the Saint Leo Lions for the first time in over six by a score of 67-62 at the Clemente Center on Saturday evening.

FIRST QUARTER
- The Panthers jumped out to an early 8-0 lead highlighted by two baskets from Sarah Liberatore.
- With a 12-2 lead over Saint Leo, the Lions would pounce back scoring 10 unanswered points to tie it 12-12 with Olivia Agunzo recording four points in the run.
- A layup from Jessica Lange followed by a three from Emily Acampora would put the Panthers ahead 17-12 with 1:23 left.
- In the final minute, Saint Leo would record the final two baskets to make it a 17-17 Florida Tech lead after one.
SECOND QUARTER
- Saint Leo took its first lead of the game 18-17 to start the second after a layup from Jumoke Adaramoye.
- Tech and the Lions would battle back and forth as the first three minutes saw three lead changes and resulted in a 23-23 tie with 6:43 to play.
- Following the tying basket from Kyandra Poitier, Tai Roberts would give tech the 25-23 lead before Taydra Simpson of the Lions hit a three to put Saint Leo ahead 26-25.
- Emily Acampora would answer back with a three for the Panthers 11 seconds later to make it 28-26, Tech.
- Saint Leo's final lead of the half would come off a successful and-1 conversion as the Panthers trailed by one 29-28.
- With 1:33 left in the first Olivia Stephens and Acampora both recorded successful mid-range jumpers with Sarah Liberatore converting a free-throw to make it 33-29, Florida Tech lead to begin the half.
THIRD QUARTER
- The third began with Emily Acampora sinking two threes in the first 2:10 of the quarter to grow the Panthers lead to 39-30.
- Chynna Mattair and Simpson would look to take over for the Lions as the two combined for 13 unanswered points by the Lions go ahead 43-39 halfway through the third.
- A three from Lina Stranger-Johannessen and two successful free throws from Tai Roberts with a Saint Leo basket in between made it a one-point Saint Leo lead, 45-44.
- Down 49-44, Roberts would sink a three to cut it back to a one-possession game, 49-47.
- Saint Leo extended its lead, 53-47 as the Panthers rallied back thanks to a layup by Roberts and successful free-throws at the line, making it a one-possession game yet again, 53-51 as Saint Leo finished the quarter ahead.
FOURTH QUARTER
- The opening four minutes of the fourth saw the Lions go cold as the Panthers warmed up scoring seven unanswered in the fourth and 11 consecutive points, going back to the end of the third, as Tech took a five-point 58-53 lead with 6:19 left to play.
- The Panthers and Lions traded baskets leaving it 62-57, Florida Tech with 4:19 to play.
- The next two minutes saw Saint Leo outscore Tech 5-2, to bring the Lion's deficit to one possession, 64-62 with 2:19 remaining.
- With 34 seconds to play, Liberatore was sent to the line, making one of two to give Tech a three-point lead.
- Acampora would give Tech a two-possession lead, going 2-2 at the free throw line making it 67-62 lead with 10 seconds remaining before the clock expired giving the Panthers their ninth win of the season.
- The Panthers held Saint Leo without a field goal in the game's final 6:02.

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE:
- Florida Tech improves to 54-24 all-time and 32-8 at home against the Lions.
- It is the Panther's first win against Saint Leo since January 10, 2018, and Tech's first win at home against Saint Leo since January 17, 2018.
- The Panther's four conference wins this season are there most in conference play since the 2019-2020 season.
- Florida Tech shot 36.9% (24-65) in field goals, 38.9% (7-18) from beyond the arc and shot 75.0% (12-16) at the free throw line.
- Saint Leo finished with a field goal percentage of 33.9% (19-56) and shot 41.7% (5-12) in threes while making 76.0% (19-25) of its free throw attempts.
