MELBOURNE, Fla. – The Florida Tech returned home to the Clemente Center to face Embry-Riddle on Saturday afternoon. The Panthers took an early lead and would hold onto it until the final two minutes of the third period. Tech fought to regain the lead, tying it up twice, but the Eagles emerged victorious, 75-73.
INSIDE THE MATCHUP:

FIRST QUARTER:
- Tai Roberts got the Panthers started with a jumper just 20 seconds into the game, followed by a layup from Sarah Liberatore to go up 4-0 less than a minute in.
- Eva Zaragoza posted Embry-Riddle's first points of the game on a layup.
- Tech scored eight straight points over the next 2:16, extending their lead 10-2 with 7:19 to go. Baskets were scored by Liberatore and Roberts.
- Back-to-back jumpers by the Eagles cut it to a six-point game with 6:01 to go.
- Teams exchanged baskets until the 1:18 mark, Tech leading 19-13.
- A Liberatore layup and an Emily Acampora jumper pushed Tech back out to a double-digit lead, 21-13 with 1:01 remaining.
- Mary Lengemann drove in for an Eagles layup to end the frame.
SECOND QUARTER:
- ERAU opened the second period with a 6-0 run, cutting Tech's lead to one possession, 23-21.
- Dalma Ehamnn tallied her first points of the game, going up strong for a layup.
- Kyandra Poitier then split her free throws to push Tech's lead to five with 6:07 remaining.
- Tech posted six more points, thanks to two jumpers by Ehamnn and a jumper from Poitier, to ERAU's five points to stay up 32-26, 4:09 to go.
- Lengemann sunk a wide-open jumper for the Eagles, followed by a driving layup by Kyra Haan to once again make it a one-possession game with 1:28 on the clock.
- Poitier made two free throws to give Tech a four-point lead going into the break, 34-30.
THIRD QUARTER:
- The Eagles got the scoring going, sinking a three to trail by one point.
- Lina Stranger-Johannessen answered back for the Panthers with a three of her own.
- On the next possession, Tai Roberts grabbed the defensive rebound and pushed the ball down the court to Liberatore, who was wide open for a three. The Panthers extended their lead back to seven, 40-33, with 7:37 to go.
- In between ERAU's two made layups, Roberts sunk two free throws for Tech.
- The Eagles went on a 13-5 run to take their first lead of the game, 48-47, and force a Panthers timeout with 2:07 left in the period.
- Coming out of the timeout, ERAU went on a 6-2 run to take a five-point lead going into the final quarter, 54-49.
FOURTH QUARTER:
- After trading points, the Panthers tied it up, 57-57, 3:10 into the frame off two free throws by Roberts and a Poitier layup.
- ERAU went on a 5-0 run off a three-point play and two free throws to lead Tech, 62-57 with 5:53 on the clock.
- Poitier made a layup to cut the deficit to three before Acampora sunk a three from the corner to tie up, 62-62, with 3:37 to go.
- Eagles extended their lead back out to five with two free throws and a converted three-point play.
- Acampora drained another three from the corner to cut it to one possession, 2:27 remaining.
- An Eagles jumper followed by two free throws would push their lead to six before Roberts made a turnaround jumper in the paint and Poitier sunk a free throw to cut it back to three with 56 seconds to go.
- Liberatore grabbed a steal at the top of the key and pushed it down the court, Acampora secured the put-back as the Panthers trailed by one, 71-70, with 25 seconds left.
- Fouled with 11 seconds on the clock, ERAU's Kailey Turpening recorded two free throws.
- Less than a second later, Poitier split a pair of free throws for Tech.
- ERAU posted two more free throws, followed by Poitier making a layup for Tech.
- With 2.2 on the clock and up by two, the Eagles threw the ball in bounds and held on for the 75-73 win.
NOTABLE PANTHERS:
- Tai Roberts led the Panthers with a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds while adding three assists, one steal and one block.
- Sarah Liberatore posted 14 points, three assists, one rebound, and one steal.
- Kyandra Poitier added 13 points, seven rebounds, two assists, and one steal.
- Emily Acampora and Dalma Ehamnn each recorded 10 points, four rebounds, and one block each.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:
- Florida Tech moves to 7-9 all-time against Embry-Riddle. Tech is now 4-4 at home against the Eagles.
- Tech finished the game shooting 41.8% (28-67) from the field, 40.0% (6-15) from beyond the arc, and 78.6% (11-14) on free throws.
- ERAU shot 42.6% (26-61) in the contest, 30.8% (4-13) from the three-point range, and 82.6% (19-23) from the line.
- Florida Tech held a slight advantage in rebounds (39-34), second-chance points (11-9), and bench points (33-26).
- Embry-Riddle recorded more fast break points (18-7) and points in the paint (40-38).
