SAINT LEO, Fla. – Florida Tech softball took on Saint Leo in a Saturday doubleheader in attempt to earn the Series win against the Lions. Following a close 4-2 Game One of the doubleheaders which saw the Lions tie up the series, game two was eventually decided in extra innings as both teams remained scoreless through seven full innings and later see the Lions walk it off in the bottom of the ninth.
GAME ONE:

STATS OF THE GAME:
- The Panthers would be the first to score following a solo shot to left field from Miranda Schwartz as the Panthers took a 1-0 lead over the Lions in the top of the second.
- After allowing a double off the Lions first batter, Alex Hendrian would go on to retire the next eight batters.
- In the bottom of the third, following a double from Saint Leo's Sydney Cline, a single up the middle from Alexis Barber would score cline from second and tie the game at 1-1.
- Later that Inning, with two outs, the Lions would score an unearned run off a fielding error to take the 2-1 lead.
- Hailey Beuerlein would hit a homer for Saint Leo in the bottom half of the fourth to extend the lions lead, 3-1.
- As the Panthers loaded the bases in the top of the sixth, down by two runs and with one out, Kathryn Sexton would earn a walk to score Katie Hogue from third to make it a 3-2 ballgame before the side was retired.
- I the bottom of the sixth and with one out, a groundout to shortstop was enough to score Saint Leo's runner from third and make it a 4-2 game.
- With one out and Ella Niles on first in the top of the seventh, the Panthers were unable to convert any opportunity as the Lions managed to even up the series 1-1 and take the first game of Saturdays double header 4-2.

STATS OF THE GAME:
- In the circle, Ella Niles recorded eight scoreless innings as the Panthers and Lions battled it out to a 0-0 contest.
- Following a single from the Lions with two outs in the bottom fo the first, Niles would go on to put out the next 12 batters in a row that would take the Panthers to the bottom of the fifth with two outs.
- Still 0-0 after seven full innings played the rubber match between the Panthers and Lions would need to be decided in extra innings.
- Following a single in the top of the eighth by Schwartz, a sacrifice bunt by Sexton and single by Casillas would put Panthers of first and third before the Lions worked their way out of the jam to keep it 0-0 after seven and a half innings played.
- Neither team recorded a run until Alyssa Perez singled through the left side to score Grace Dunsworth from second as the Lions walked it off to win the third game of the series 1-0.
NOTABLE PANTHERS:
- Ella Niles finished Game Two throwing 8.2 innings with allowing just six hits with no extra base hits, walked just one batter, and tossed 55 strikes from 81 total pitches.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- The Panthers now move to an all-time 52-79-1 against Saint Leo.
- Alex Hendrian tossed her NCAA-leading 17th complete game of the season in Game one.

th in a doubleheader with first pitch of game one schedule to be thrown out at 12:00 P.M.
