MELBOURNE, Fla. – No.19 Florida Tech women's lacrosse achieved its first conference win of the season as they picked up a huge 21-9 win over Palm Beach Atlantic on Saturday afternoon. The Panthers dedicated in honor of Morgan Rogers, a former Duke University women's lacrosse player, and the organization Morgan's Message that was created by Morgan's friend and Family. Morgan's Message is a non-profit organization that strives to eliminate the stigma surrounding mental health within the student-athlete community and equalize the treatment of physical and mental health in athletics. INSIDE THE MATCHUP:

FIRST QUARTER:

• Florida Tech was dominant from the start scoring its first goal 21 seconds into the game by Carly Niro from Scichilone
• From there the Panthers would rally off five more goals in less than 10-minutes to blow open the lead to 6-0.
• Tech's big run was highlighted by Karly Liebendorfer recording a hat trick off a free position shot while her other two goals came assisted by Caroline Finn and Kayla Minton.
• PBA would finally put one point on the board as Bella Marchiano scored with 6:27 to go in the first.
• Tech continued to pounce on the Sailfish throughout the first, recording five unanswered goals to take an 11-1 lead with 3:15 to play.
• The Crimson and Gray's second big run was big thanks to Niro and Scichilone both recording three points. Both recorded two goals and an assist.
• As Rachel Delate of the Sailfish made it an 11-1 game with 1:01 remaining In the first quarter, Kayla Minton quickly started the running clock once again scoring with 37 seconds left to play before the first quarter expired with Tech ahead 12-2.

 
SECOND QUARTER:

• Tech held PBA scoreless for the entire second quarter.
• Scichilone added two more points from a goal and an assist.
• Jennie Boyle who assisted on Scichilone's goal found the back of the net herself to make it a 14-2 Panthers lead with 12:10 to play in the second.
• Tech's final goal of the half was scored by Kayla Minton with 9:21 remaining in the quarter, assisted by Scichilone.
• The Panthers would enter the half leading the Sailfish 15-2.

 
THIRD QUARTER:

• The Sailfish were the first to score in the third as Addyson Johnson found the back of the net one minute into the second half.
• Emma Angelo recorded her first goal of the game shortly after PBA's goal, assisted by Scichilone before PBA's Delate answered back to keep it a 12-goal game.
• At 9:02, Niro scored once again being assisted by none other than Scichilone.
• Delate scored her third goal of the game to make it a 17-5 Panthers lead before Angelo scored her second goal of the contest with three seconds remaining to put Florida Tech ahead 18-5 after 45 minutes of play.

 
FOURTH QUARTER:

• PBA opened the second with a quick two goals as the Panthers remained in command 18-7.
• Kyla Vendemia was able to score in the contest at 8:14 off a nice assist from Finn.
• As the Sailfish answered back with a goal from Annika Limpert, Jennie Boyle scored her third goal of the game with 5:51 remaining.
• Limpert would score back-to-back goals for PBA, but Tech would have the final say as Charlotte Hardie was able to earn her first goal of the game with 1:11 to play.
• Hardie was assisted by Angelo on her goal.
• As the clock expired Tech would pick up its first conference win of the season with a dominant 21-9 win over PBA.

 
 
NOTABLE PANTHERS:

• Scichilone finished with a career-high 10 points from seven assists and three goals.
• Carly Niro ended the game with six points from five goals and one assist.
• Jennie Boyle and Kayla Minton both added four points to their stat sheets with each recording three goals and one assist.
• In goal for 45 minutes of play, Cailey Canessa led the Panthers with three caused turnovers and three ground balls. Her three ground balls were tied with Boyle for the most in the game.
• Emma Angelo and Phoebe Hurt were tied for the team's high amount of draw control wins as both recorded five wins at the circle.

 
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE

• Florida Tech improves to 8-0 all-time against Palm Beach Atlantic
• It is the sixth time in eight games Tech has defeated the sailfish by 10 or more goals.
• Both Sophia Scichilone and Carly Niro reach 100 career points following their big performances.
• Scichilone's 10 points set a lot of big milestones for the sophomore.
• In Panther program history, Scichilone is now third in single season assists (30) and fourth in career assists (44), Her 59 points this season are 10th best in a season in program history, and her 10 points today make her the fourth Panther ever to have 10 points in a game and the first since Leah Dunn did so back on 4/10/19 vs. PBA.
• Jennie Boyle moves into the top 10 in program career points (113) and goals (82).
• Kayla Minton moves to eight on the career goals list (95).

 
UP NEXT: The Panthers will return to action on Wednesday, April 3^rd when the Panthers host No.15 Rollins College in an SSC matchup. The game is set to stake place at Rick Stottler Field with first draw scheduled for 7:00 PM.
