MIAMI SHORES, Fla. – The Panthers' offense found its stride in the first game of the doubleheader, crushing three home runs for a 16-4 victory. However, Florida Tech would fall in the final game 6-1 despite another home run.
GAME ONE:

STATS OF THE GAME:
- While the Panthers' offense was slow to start, Barry scored two runs in the first inning. Two hit-by-pitches and a walk loaded the bases, and a sacrifice fly and an Alexis Toledo single brought home two runners.
- Both offenses were held scoreless in the second inning.
- The Buccaneers doubles their lead in the third with a lead-off dinger from Caroline Figueroa's solo shot and a sacrifice bunt to make the score 4-0.
- In the top of the fourth, the Panthers would find their offense, taking the lead with seven runs in one inning.
- Kelly McLaughlin singled to lead-off, followed by a Celeste Casillas single and a Jolie Miracle double, bringing in the first two runs.
- After Barry made a call to the bullpen, Mya Ogbodiewgu destroyed the ball over the center field wall, tying the game at four runs apiece.
- The inning was not over as Miranda Schwartz walked and Jillian Moeller singled, setting up Samantha Shortal for her first career home run to dead center.
- Alex Hendrian locked in for the rest of the game, giving up three hits and striking out two batters in the final four innings.
- Once the Panther bats opened up, it was hard for the Buccaneers to stop. Florida Tech added three more runs to their total in the fifth inning.
- Miracle recorded a lead-off single, and Katie Hogue followed with a single of her own. They would both score off an Ogbodiewgu double to the left-field gap.
- Ogbodiewgu then scored herself by a sacrifice fly from the bat of Moeller.
- McLaughlin again got on base, this time via a walk in the sixth, then stole second base and advanced to third on a wild pitch. An error by the third baseman allowed Casillas to reach and McLaughlin to score.
- Florida Tech made the finishing touches in the seventh, tallying five more runs. Moeller and Shortal both scored through mistakes made by the Barry defense.
- Later in the inning, with two runners on base, Casillas smashed her first home run as a Panther down the left-field line, as the Panthers took the game 16-4.

STATS OF THE GAME:
- Again, Barry's pitcher, Maci Barnhart, shut down the Panthers' offense. Despite earning hits in each of the first three innings, the team did not score until the fourth.
- The Barry lead-off batter, Brooklyn Rushton, singled then scored two outs later a Figueroa single up the middle. The Buccaneers tallied two more hits, but three runners were left on base.
- Ella Niles turned it around the next two innings, earning a three and out in the second inning, and left three more runners on base in the third inning.
- Obediewgu's fantastic day continued as she tanked a ball to left center to tie the game 1-1 in the fourth.
- In the fifth inning, Barry scored three runs to regain the lead, which they kept for the rest of the game.
- Despite the first two batters flying out, Toledo walked and advanced to second on a wild pitch, setting up Mac Stone-Folmer for an RBI double.
- After Sofia Chamorro walked, Chandler Barry doubled to right field for two more runs, making the score 4-1.
- The Buccaneers brought home two more insurance runs in the sixth via another Figueroa home run.
NOTABLE PANTHERS:
- Mya Obediewgu went 4-for-7 with two home runs and five RBI and came around to score three times as well. The senior's two dingers moved her to third place in program history with 15 in her career, tying Megan Hube.
- Jolie Miracle went 4-for-5 in the first game, registering two runs and two RBI, too.
- Celeste Casillas and Samantha Shortal hit their first home runs of the year and their firsts as Panthers. Shortal overall went 3-for-4 with two runs and three RBI.
- Alex Hendrian earned her NCAA-leading 23rd complete game, which is tied for the 10th most in program history with Lois Elston and Amber West.
