COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – The Florida Tech women's soccer team clinched their spot in the 2025 Women's Soccer Division II National Championship after their 1-0 victory over Cal Poly Pomona on Thursday, Dec. 11.

GAME NOTES
- Cal Poly Pomona was on the attack early as they fired shots on goal in the 4th, 6th and 11th minutes. Kaitlin Sinkler saved all three shots while the Panthers defended two corner kicks.
- After a foul on the Panthers, the Broncos took another shot at the Florida Tech net, but it drifted top left.
- The Panther shot came in the 31st minute as Lauryn Wood attempted to break the tie but it was saved by the Bronco goalkeeper.
- CPP had another chance in the 35th minute but the ball drifted wide right.
- Tech threatened in the 36th minute with a corner. The set piece was well defended by Cal Poly as they were able to clear the ball.
- In the 38th minute, Savannah Oxley had a good look at the Broncos net, but her shot missed high.
- Kaitlin Sinkler made her fourth save of the half in the 39th minute as the Broncos fired top shelf.
- Tech was able to possess the ball coming out of half. Sara Batchadji threatened with a shot, but it was saved by the Bronco goalie.
- Cal Poly was able to ward off two corners by the Panthers in the 47th and 49th minutes.
- The Panthers finally broke through in the 50th minute as Sara Batchadji received a pass from Savannah Oxley on the left side of the goal. The Bronco goalie was able to get a finger on it, but not enough the stop the shot as it rolling to give Tech the 1-0 lead.
- After conceding their first goal of the 2025 NCAA Tournament, Cal Poly got momentum going and had two decent looks at the Panthers goal. The first shot in the 55th minute missed right and the second in the 57th minute went off the right woodwork.
- The Panthers earned a corner in the 60th minute that resulted in a Savannah Oxley shot that missed left.
- The Broncos earned a corner in the 70th minute, but Cal Poly was unable to get a shot off.
- CPP fired a shot off in the 73rd minute but Kaitlin Sinkler was able to make the grab and keep the Broncos off the scoreboard.
- Cal Poly fired four total shots in the 78th, 79th and 82nd minutes, none of which were on goal.
- The Broncos were only able to get off two more shots; both off target as the Panthers were able to knock off the defend champions.
BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
- Tech advances to their first NCAA National Championship in program history.
- After being named an All-American, Sara Batchadji scored her fifth goal of the season.
- Savannah Oxley earned her second assist of the season.
- Kaitlin Sinkler saved five shots and recorded her 10th clean sheet of the season.
