ABOUT FLORIDA TECH
The Panthers enter their first National Championship match in program history with a 16-3-6 record and advanced to the title match with a 1-0 win over Cal Poly Pomona. In the match,
Kaitlin Sinkler was fantastic in goal as she held the defending champs scoreless while saving five shots.
Sara Batchadji scored the game-winning goal in the 50
th minute off an assist from
Savannah Oxley.
ABOUT FRANKLIN PIERCE
The Ravens enter the NCAA Championship match with a 17-2-5 record and made their way to the title game with a 2-1 victory over Washburn in the semifinals. Franklin Pierce was trailing 0-1 with nine minutes remaining as they scored in the 82
nd minute and again in the 83
rd minute for the come from behind win.
EARLIER THIS SEASON
On Oct. 3, Florida Tech made the trip up to Rindge, New Hampshire as they took on the Ravens. Claudia Peirce of FPU scored in the 51
st minute to put the Ravens ahead, but an 81
st minute goal from
Alice Mottershead tied the match at 1-1. The match would end in a tie, however, the Panthers out shot Franklin Pierce 13-8. The Ravens had six corner kicks compared to Florida Tech's three.
