MELBOURNE, Fla. – The Panthers established an early lead, scoring six goals in the first quarter and maintaining their advantage throughout the match in a decisive home win defeating Colorado Mesa, 15-8. Standout performances included four goals each from
Sophia Scichilone and
Gillian Craig, three goals from
Sofie Bender, and a career-high 12 saves from
Bridget Robinson. This victory brings Tech back to .500 on the season to a record of 3-3.

FIRST QUARTER:
- The Panthers opened the scoring just over four and a half minutes played as Phoebe Hurt registered the first goal of the night at 10:52.
- Just over three minutes after that, the Mavericks would get on the board with a goal at 7:49.
- From this point on it would be all Panthers in the first quarter.
- Sofia Bender got the offense rolling with a goal at 6:35, and then to follow, Sophia Scichilone and Gillian Craig scored two goals each to take a five-goal lead in almost exactly four minutes of play as the final goal from Craig in the quarter came at the 2:33 mark.
- As a result, Tech took a 6-1 lead to end the first quarter.
SECOND QUARTER:
- To pick up from the high-scoring first quarter, Scichilone scored goal number three on the night, just 40 seconds into the second at 14:20.
- In response, the Mavericks collected two goals to a lone Bender score at 10:08, her second of the night, the score now 8-3.
- Bender recorded a hat trick with just over five minutes left in the half, 5:11, and the Panthers scored three unanswered heading into the break as Scichilone recorded goal number four and Criag goal number three with 19 seconds left.
- The Panthers now up eight going into the half, 11-3.
THIRD QUARTER:
- The Mavericks controlled a majority of the third quarter as Techs' first goal didn't come until the 1:52 minute mark.
- Both Tech and Colorado Mesa upped their defensive efforts as only four total goals were scored in the quarter, two from the Mavericks and two from the Panthers.
- The two goals for Tech came from Hurt, her second of the night, and Craig, her fourth, matching teammate Scichilone to lead the game.
- The Panthers held the lead heading into the fourth quarter now up 12-5.
FOURTH QUARTER:
- The Mavericks struck first to start the fourth at 12:51, with their eyes on a wishful comeback.
- The Panthers had something else in mind as they climbed to their largest lead of the game after back-to-back goals 48 seconds apart from Gabrielle Skowronski and Clare McGuire put Tech up nine goals.
- The Mavericks managed to put in two more goals, one at the 5:40 mark and the final at the 2:34 mark but Tech was able to stand tall and control their way to the finish and win, 15-8.

- Tech ended with more shots (33-30) and clears (15-14), but the Mavericks had more groundballs (13-7).
- Tech had the advantage in saves (12) and draw controls (17-9)
- The Panthers were (15-20) on the clears, while the Mavericks were (14-20).
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- All-time vs. Colorado Mesa: 1-0
- Sophia Scichilone finished with eight points tonight passing Alexis Townsend (2017-2021) for sixth place in program history for career points. Scichilone finishing with four assists tonight, also passed Mary Gormley (2015-2018) for second on the program's career assist list. Four goals will push her past Jennie Boyle (2022-2024) and into the program's career Top 10 in goals.
- Charlotte Hardie is now seven caused turnovers away from moving past Mollie Kaplan into 10th place on the program's career-caused turnovers list. She is also now 15 draw controls away from moving past Caroline MacLeod (2019-2022) into eighth on the program's career draw control list.
