SAINT LEO, Fla. – Outscoring the Lions 39-31 in the second half and grabbing 10 more rebounds was the difference in a 62-58 Panthers' victory on Saturday. Tai Roberts' third-quarter scoring output turned the momentum in favor of Florida Tech.

Records: Florida Tech (7-19, 4-16 SSC), Saint Leo (11-16, 6-14 SSC)

FIRST QUARTER:
  • A defensive stop on the opening possession led to an Emily Acampora second-chance three-point basket, giving Tech the 3-0 advantage.

  • Saint Leo fought back, scoring 11 of the last 15 points for either team, grabbing the 13-13 first-quarter lead.
SECOND QUARTER:
  • The Lions continued to make shots to start the second quarter, going on a 7-0 run in the first minute and a half.
  • Dalma Ehmann ended the run with a layup at the 8:21 mark, assisted by Nadine Johnson. After dealing the assists, the freshman drained a three-pointer two minutes later, making it a one-possession game.
  • Despite Saint Leo drilling two from beyond the arch, Acampora kept it a one-score game on a three-pointer of her own at 2:35. But the Lions still went into the half up 27-23.
THIRD QUARTER:
  • Off the jump, the third quarter became the Roberts' show as she cashed in on her second three-pointer on a fast break from a Kyandra Poitier rebound and assist.

  • Jessica Lange scored four, and Ehmann laid in the final basket of the quarter for a 39-34 Panther advantage.
FOURTH QUARTER:

  • Saint Leo slowly brought themselves back into the game on a 14-6 stretch, having the Lions down by three points at 53-50 with 2:55 remaining on the clock.
