MELBOURNE, Fla. – Fueled by an energetic home atmosphere, the Panthers clamped down defensively, holding Barry Buccaneers to 15 field goals and the lowest shooting percentage by a Florida Tech opponent this season in a 55–37 victory.

FIRST QUARTER:
- Tech opened the scoring with an elbow three from Elif Bayrak just over a minute into the game.
- Strong early defensive pressure limited Barry on the perimeter, including a forced shot-clock violation.
- Another elbow triple, this time from Deirdre Miller, pushed Tech out to a 6–0 lead at the 7:46 mark.
- Barry stayed close by converting second-chance opportunities, pulling within one after a pair of offensive rebounds.
- A timely steal by Miller just before the media timeout helped Tech maintain a 7–5 advantage.
- Inside, Amanda Ogbonna anchored the defense and then finished a bounce pass from Tai Roberts for an and-one to extend the lead to 12–7.
- Roberts added to the momentum with a steal and a fast-break layup in a quick sequence, doubling the Panthers' lead late in the quarter.
- Florida Tech closed the period strong, using a corner three from Bayrak and an Ogbonna bucket at the buzzer to take a 19–9 lead into the second.
SECOND QUARTER:
- Both teams traded baskets to open the quarter, with the score holding at a 10-point margin through the first two minutes.
- Barry used second-chance opportunities to score three points just before the media timeout, trimming the deficit to seven.
- Coming out of the break, Miller buried a deep corner three to push Tech's lead back to 24–14.
- The next five minutes saw each team score four points, as the Panthers maintained control with a 28–17 advantage at the two-minute mark.
- Defensive pressure on both ends kept the score unchanged the rest of the half heading into the break.
THIRD QUARTER:
- Tai Roberts opened the second half with a midrange jumper and later answered a Buccaneers layup with one of her own to push Tech ahead 32–19.
- After both teams combined for 10 points in the opening three minutes, defenses took control and held the scoreboard scoreless over the next three-minute stretch.
- Amanda Ogbonna snapped the drought at the 3:15 mark, finishing strong underneath to keep momentum with the Panthers.
- Following a Roberts steal, Barry responded on the ensuing possession, maintaining the margin at 13 points.
- Elif Bayrak closed the quarter with a corner three-pointer, sending Tech into the final period up 39–25.
FOURTH QUARTER:
- Barry opened the quarter with an and-one, but Tech answered immediately at the line as Tai Roberts knocked down two free throws to limit the damage.
- Under eight minutes remaining, Elif Bayrak buried a three before Barry responded from deep, keeping the Panthers in control at 44–31.
- At the 6:49 mark, Remingtyn Smith swatted a Buccaneer attempt and pushed the break, finding Bayrak for an easy transition bucket.
- Bayrak added a pair from the stripe, then Roberts came up with a steal that led to an Ogbonna offensive board and finish at the rim.
- Bayrak struck again from long range with under five minutes to play, pushing the advantage to 20 on her fifth three of the night.
- Barry managed a pair of late baskets in the paint in an effort to slow Tech's momentum.
- The Panthers closed out the final minutes at the free-throw line to secure the 55–37 home victory.
NOTABLE PANTHERS:
- Elif Bayrak posted her third 20+ point performance of the season, knocking down five three-pointers while adding four rebounds and three assists.
- Tai Roberts finished with 11 points and was relentless defensively, recording a career-high five steals.
- Amanda Ogbonna contributed 13 points and led the Panthers on the glass with a team-best nine rebounds.
INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:
- The Panthers moved to 47-39 all-time against the Buccaneers.
- Tech is 25-15 all-time at home against Barry with their last win against the Bucs at the Clemente Center being a 76-66 victory on February 13, 2021.
- The Panthers held Barry to a 28.3 field goal percentage which is the lowest by any opponent this season.
