MELBOURNE, Fla. – The Panthers took the series over Florida Southern with a 5-0 win before weather ended the second game of the doubleheader and go down as a no contest

STATS OF THE GAME:
- Mocs picked up a two-out single but Sammy Murphy stranded the runner with a strikeout and a foul out.
- Chloe Fariello walked, stole second, and came home on an Emma Chisholm RBI single and throwing error. Haley Rider followed with an RBI groundout to make it 2-0 Panthers.
- Murphy worked around a hit batter with a strikeout and two groundouts to keep the shutout intact during the second inning.
- Another scoreless frame in the third for Murphy, highlighted by a lineout back to the circle.
- In the bottom of the third, Emma Chisholm launched a solo homer to left, extending the lead to 3-0.
- Tech extended lead when Mikayla Terito doubled and scored on a Fariello RBI double, pushing the advantage to 4-0.
- Other than one runner getting on base via error, Murphy put the Mocs down with ease in the following two innings.
- Fariello singled and later scored on an RBI double by pinch hitter Elaina Snyder making it 5-0Â after six innings.
- Ava McCormick stepped into the circle and closed it out with a three-up, three-down inning,  sealing the shutout victory.
NOTABLE PANTHERS:
- Florida Southern hasn't figured out how to stop Chloe Farello yet with another 3-for-3 performance with a double, RBI, and a stolen base.
- Emma Chisholm and Sage Verkler each had two hits. One of Chisholm's hits was a solo-shot to left field.
- Elaina Snyder and Brianna Garcia earned their first career hits. Snyder also tallied her first career RBI.
- Kelsey Hahn pitched six innings, allowing three hits, and striking out three.
- Ava McCormick finished the final inning for her second save of the season.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- Under Val Silvestrini, the Panthers have won 12 of 17 series against Florida Southern. Prior to her arrival, they had won just two series against the Moccasins all-time.Â
- Since the start of the 2016 season, Florida Tech is 25-6 against Florida Southern.Â
- Chisholm tied Krista Patterson and Mikayla Lewin for eighth most homeruns in a single-season with seven.
