2013-14: Competed in butterfly and freestyle races during his freshman season… set three solo and three relay records at the SSC Championships… broke the FIT-record in the 50-yard freestyle (20.60), 100-yard freestyle (45.52) and 100-yard butterfly (49.53) at the conference meet… helped the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:22.27), 400-yard freestyle relay (3:06.62) and 200-yard medley relay (1:32.90) teams best the school record at the conference championships… won the 50-yard freestyle at Nova Southeastern (10/19) with a time of 20.92… claimed the 50-yard freestyle vs. No. 22 Lewis (1/1), touching in 21.40… placed first in the 50-yard (21.25), 100-yard (47.76) freestyle and 200-yard freestyle relay (1:27.22) races against Mount Union (1/5)… helped guide the 200-yard freestyle relay team to victory vs. Savannah College of Art & Design (1/11), finishing in 1:26.61… finished first three times Rollins (1/18), taking the 50-yard freestyle (21.35), 200-yard freestyle relay (1:26.15) and 400-yard medley relay (3:33.89).

Previous School: Attended Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, La. for one year.

Personal: Son of Eitan and Rachel Barnea…has two siblings, Guy and Or…Guy swam for University of California at Berkley and made it to semifinals of Bejiing Olympics in 100 backstroke...he also placed third at NCAA Division I Championship in 100 backstroke final…Nir served for three years in Israeli Army…chose Florida Tech for opportunity to be part of a new swimming program and he can help shape future of team…inspired by his parents who have great attitudes and amazing life stories...won Israeli Championship three times in 50 freestyle.
