Biography
2015-16: Swam a 1:52.20 in the 200-yard free...swam a seson best 24.15 in the 50-yard backstroke...swam a 51.55 in the 100-yard backstroke...swam a season best 200-yard backstroke in 1:51.94...swam a 59.72 100-yard breast...swam the 100-yard fly in 53.64...swam a 200-yard IM in 1:55.69.
2014-15: Competed in freestyle, backstroke, butterfly, breaststroke and IM races...took seventh in the 200-yard backstroke (1:51.58), 15th in the 100-yard backstroke (52.28), 17th in the 200-yard IM (1:55.35) and 24th in the 100-yard butterfly (53.51)...won the 200-yard back (2:00.12) vs. Rollins...garnered runner-up posittion in the 200-yard backstroke (2:00.03) against Tampa...placed third in the 50-yard backstroke against Lewis (26.37) and Saint Leo (26.29)...finished fourth in the 200-yard IM vs. Nova Southeastern (2:01.87) and Lewis (2:03.55).
2013-14: Competed in backstroke and butterfly races during his freshman season… broke the school-record in the 200-yard backstroke at the SSC Championships (2/22), touching in 1:52.62… helped lead his 200-yard medley relay team to victory at Rollins (11/09) with a time of 1:37.61…won the 100-yard backstroke vs. No. 22 Lewis (1/1), clocking in at 54.37… claimed the 100-yard individual medley with a time of 55.85 at Saint Leo (1/17).
High School: Graduated from Robertsdale High School in Robertsdale, Alabama… participated in swimming, football, basketball, cross country and track… earned four varsity letters… was All- County for swimming, football, cross country and track.
Club: Swam for seven years with the Southern Waters Aquatics Team in Daphne, Ala.
Personal: Son of Scott and Renee Phelps… has three siblings, Trista, Kate and Jack…aspires to become a Disney Imagineer and design rollercoasters for Disney… chose Florida Tech because of the school and the swim team gave him the best opportunity to succeed in academics and athletics…admires his parents the most because the provide him with the opportunity to pursue his dreams.
