Ryan Moon

Ryan Moon

Ryan Moon was named head coach of the Florida Tech women's soccer team in May 2020, becoming the fifth head coach in program history.

In his second season, Moon led Tech an 8-6-3 overall record and a 5-4-1 SSC record. Moon led the Panthers to their second straight SSC Tournament Championship appearance. Tech defeated Barry on their home turf and Florida Southern in PK's on the road, to make their second straight championship appearance. A rematch of the 2021 SSC championship, Tech faced Embry-Riddle, who eventually won 1-0.

Five Panthers earned All-SSC honors, JoJo Michaels and Mayara Queiroz Reis were named to the first team, while Marem Ndiongue, Maria Sanchez Recuero, and Kajsa Ekstrom were selected to the second team. Michaels and Queiroz Reis were also named to the All-South Region team by the D2CCA and United Soccer Coaches associations.

Under his first full season as head coach in Fall 2021, Moon led the Panthers to a record of 10-3-9, including a 4-2-4 mark in the SSC. Florida Tech won the NCAA South Region Championship and made it to the national quarterfinal round for the second time in program history during the 2021 campaign. The 10 victories tied Moon atop the program record book for most wins by a head coach in their first full season. The Panthers boasted a 3-0-1 record against ranked opponents and finished the regular season undefeated over the final eight games to clinch the No. 6 seed in the 2021 SSC Tournament. In addition, the Crimson and Gray were 4-0-4 at Rick Stottler Field, joining the Final Four campaign of 2010 as the second unbeaten season at home in program history.

The Panthers defeated Nova Southeastern and Palm Beach Atlantic, both on the road, during the first two rounds of the 2021 SSC Tournament but eventually fell 1-0 to Embry-Riddle in Daytona Beach. The late season run helped Florida Tech earn a spot in the NCAA Tournament as the No. 5 seed in the South Region. The Panthers would defeat the region's No. 4, No. 1, and No. 3 seeds during the first three rounds of the national tournament, winning all three matches in penalty kicks, to earn the program's best finish since the 2010 season. Four Panthers were named to the All-SSC teams, JoJo Micheals and Maria Sanchez Recuero earned first team honors from the conference while Marem Ndiongue and Mayara Queiroz Reis were selected to the second team. Michaels, Sanchez Recuero and Queiroz Reis were also honored with All-South Region laurels from the D2CCA and United Soccer Coaches associations.

After maneuvering the COVID-19 pandemic, Moon led the women's soccer team to a 3-1-2 record during the shortened Spring 2021 season, which included wins over Saint Leo (2-0), Rollins (1-0) and Florida Southern (1-0)
