Florida Tech Panthers

2014-15: Competed in backstroke and medley relay races...placed 12th in the 400-yard medley relay (3:29.42) and 200-yard backstroke (1:53.48), while garnering 13th in the 100-yard backstroke (51.34) at the 2015 SSC Championships...won the 100-yard backstroke (54.02) against Rollins...snagged runner-up position in the 100-yard backstroke (52.71) against Florida Atlantic...garnered second in the 400-yard medley relay (3:29.27) and the 100-yard backstroke (52.76) against Lynn.

2013-14: competed in backstroke and butterfly races during his junior season… swam to a school-record time of 1:32.90 in the 200-yard medley relay at the SSC Championships (2/20)… helped lead the 400-yard medley relay team to victory vs. Rollins (1/18), clocking in at 3:33.89.

2012-13: Earned a spot on the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll…competed in backstroke, butterfly and individual medley events in his sophomore season…relay school record member on both 200 and 400 medley relays, set at the 2013 Sunshine State Conference Championships (2/13-16)…individual school record holder in the 100 backstroke (52.55), recorded at the 2012 SSC Championships.

2011-12: Competed in backstroke, butterfly and individual medley events… Part of a  200-yard medley relay team who took first in a dual meet against Rollins…marked four season best times in the Sunshine Stat Conference Championships.

High School: Graduated from Hawaii Preparatory Academy…participated in swimming, volleyball and rugby…won 2011 most outstanding swimmer award and 2010 coach’s choice award…Hawaii High School Athletic Association individual and team champion.

Club: Member of Academy Swim Club for three years…won multiple gold medals and holds various records.
 
Personal: Son of Mike and Buffy Nakachi…chose Florida Tech for its swimming and engineering program…enjoys scuba diving, fishing, bodysurfing and reading during his spare time…favorite athlete is Aaron Peirsol…favorite words of wisdom are “I am the master of my fate, I am the captain of my soul.”…favorite movies include “The Dark Knight,” “Avatar” and “Star Wars”…favorite actor is Liam Neeson…favorite musicians are Bob Marley and Wiz Khalifa…favorite vacation spot is Hawaii…would like to visit Tahiti, New Zealand, Fiji and Indonesia.
