Florida Tech Panthers

2014-15: Competed in freestyle races...placed fifth in the 800-yard freestyle relay (6:46.50), 10th in the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:05.29) and 12th in the 400-yard medley relay (3:29.42) at the 2015 SSC Championships...took third in the 200-yard free (1:47.04) at Tampa...garnered third in the 400-yard freestyle relay against Saint Leo (3:20.56).

2013-14: Competed in freestyle races during his freshman season… set new program-records in the 400-yard freestyle relay (3:06.62), 800-yard freestyle relay (6:57.85) and 400-yard medley relay (3:28.24) at the SSC Championships… helped guide his 200-yard freestyle relay team to victory with a time of 1:26.10 vs. Saint Leo and Lynn (10/13)… finished first in the 200-yard medley relay at Rollins (11/09), clocking in at 1:37.61… also won in the 200-yard freestyle relay vs. Savannah College of Art & Design (1/11), finishing in 1:26.61.

High School: Graduate of Harry Ainlay High School in Edmonton, Canada…played ultimate Frisbee, football, and golf outside of swimming…earned two varsity letters.

Club: Swam for eight years with the Edmonton Keyano Swim Club…placed second in the 50 Free at the Alberta Provincials and third in the 100 Free... placed first in the 4X100 Medley and freestyle at Western Nationals

Personal: Son of Rod and Mae Szarka… has a younger sibling, Taryn… aspires to be a structural engineer…chose Florida Tech because of the weather, swimming, and civil engineering program…admires Jason Lezak for his unbelievable relay split on the 4X100 Freestyle relay
