2014-15: Competed in freestyle races...placed sixth in the 1,000-yard freestyle (11:13.15) against Savannah College of Art & Design...took seventh in the 1,000 free (11:16.77) versus Saint Leo.

2013-14: Competed in freestyle races during his junior season… registered a career-best time of 11:03.43 in the 1,000-yard freestyle at Nova Southeastern (10/18).

2012-13: Earned a spot on the SSC Spring Honor Roll…earned a spot on the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll…competed in distance freestyle, butterfly and individual medley events in his sophomore season…500 Free: swam a season best 5:01.54 at Sunshine State Conference Championships (2/13-16)…1000 Free: swam a season best 10:39.14 at SSC Championships (2/13-16)…1650 Free: swam a season best 17:53.66 at SSC Championships.

2011-12: Competed in freestyle, butterfly and individual medley events…recorded six season-best times at the Sunshine State Conference Championships…scored at SSC Championships in all three individual events…team captain.

High School: Graduated from University High School in Tucson, Ariz…participated in swimming…qualified three times to the state championships… named 2008 most improved swimmer, 2009 most valuable swimmer and 2010 swim team captain.

Club: Swam two years for El Dorado Aquatic Club.

Personal: Son of Janet and Bill Mitchell…chose Florida Tech because of its engineering program…admires his former swimming coach Rick Laing because of his achievements and hard work…favorite words of wisdom are “The race is not always to the swift, but to those who keep on running”…favorite band is Van Halen…favorite vacation spot is Hawaii…would like to visit the Great Barrier Reef in Australia.
