Amanda Haverman is entering her first season as the assistant softball coach at Florida Tech.
Prior to joining the Panthers family, Haverman served as an assistant coach at Jacksonville University during the 2014-2016 seasons. In her two years as a Dolphin, Haverman helped the team reach a 28-28 overall record, and gain the fifth spot in the Atlantic Sun Conference. That year, Jacksonville finished the season with a .256 hitting average over 49 games played, and collected 325 hits, to include 33 home runs and 42 doubles for 157 RBIs.
Before becoming part of the JU softball program, Haverman strengthened her coaching experience at Norfolk State, where she operated as the assistant coach for four years. While in the Spartan lines, she aided in the programs best season in 2013, where they went 31-22. Additionally, Amanda helped Norfolk reach the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference tournament four times, which included one appearance to the championship game.
Starting off her coaching career, Amanda spent two years as the assistant coach at Virginia Interment. Under her supervision, the Lady Cobras advanced all the way to the championship game in 2010, before falling short to Union College. Due to her coaching ability, the Lady Cobras finished first in the conference for home runs and 16th in the nation among all NAIA schools.
Amanda graduated from East Tennessee State with a bachelor’s degree in Sport Management and a minor in Management. While playing for the Buccaneers, Haverman was named Atlantic Sun First Team All-Conference in 2007, and broke the school’s single-season RBI record with 37. In the program’s record book, Amanda also tied the single-game record for hits with four.
