Sport Responsibilities: M/W Cross Country/Track, Women’s Basketball, Women’s Lacrosse, Men’s Rowing

Leah Sampson was hired as Florida Tech’s Assistant Athletic Trainer in Fall 2020. 
 
Prior to coming to Florida Tech, Sampson held the same position with Lynn University’s Athletic Department from August 2019 to July 2020. She was responsible for providing and coordinating all aspects for sports medicine care for Lynn’s men’s and women’s swimming and women’s lacrosse teams. Sampson also developed and implemented injury prevention programs and sports medicine precedents for Lynn’s two newly established varsity teams. 
 
Before working at Lynn, Sampson served as a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at the University of the Pacific from July 2017 to May 2019, while earning her Master’s in Health, Exercise and Sports Sciences. There, she was responsible for providing sports medicine coverage for the field hockey team. Coinciding with her graduate assistantship, Sampson served as an Athletic Training Preceptor at Pacific as well as an Athletic Trainer at Lodi High School. 
 
Sampson earned a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training and a minor in Nutrition for Sport in Exercise at the University of Connecticut in May 2017. During her ungraduated years, she worked with the Pomfret School, UCONN’s women’s volleyball, women’s ice hockey and football teams, and at the University of Hartford. Additionally, she worked as an Athletic Training Student Intern with the WNBA’s Connecticut Sun during the 2016 season. 
 
Sampson has earned an abundance of certifications throughout her career. Currently, she is a board certified athletic trainer by National Athletic Trainers' Association, a Florida licensed Athletic Trainer, a Correctice Exercise Specialist, and certified in CPR, AED, first aid and performance movement taping.
