Doug Bonney enters his fourth season as the goalkeeper coach for the Panthers in 2018.

In his second season as Florida Tech goalkeeper coach, Bonney led the Panthers defense to a 2nd place in SSC for goals-allowed average (0.82).

Originally from Tustin, Calif., Bonney moved to Virginia and played his club soccer for the Prince William County Bandits as a goalkeeper.

He graduated in 1989 from Potomac Senior High School, where he captained the Panthers and was selected to the all-district team. Bonney then continued his playing career in Wilmington, N.C. from 1989-93 at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington as a goalkeeper, where he also earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Special Education with a Minor in Psychology.

Along with his duties at Florida Tech, Bonney has been the assistant coach at Melbourne High School for 19 years, where he has helped lead them to three FHSAA State Championships. Also, he is currently the coach of the U10 boys team for Brevard United and coaches goalkeepers individually. Bonney has helped several goalkeepers earn spots on Division I and II college teams throughout his coaching and training over the last 19 years in Brevard County.

He holds the NSCAA Advanced National Goalkeeping Diploma and plans on furthering his coaching degrees.

Bonney lives in Melbourne Beach with his wife, Michelle, and his four sons.
