Biography

2011: Named All-SSC Second Team…awarded SSC Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 12…played every minute (1557:41) in goal for the Panthers…one of seven Panthers to start all 17 games…recorded eight shutouts, ranking third in the SSC…opened the season with back-to-back shutouts against Florida Southern (9/1) and at Anderson (S.C.) (9/3)…collected a season-high eight saves twice against Lenoir-Rhyne (9/9) in a 2-1 win facing 14 shots, and against Rollins (11/4)in a 2-0 loss facing a season-high 17 shots…made six saves against 12 shots in a 2-1 victory over Lynn (10/22)…faced 122 total shots making 44 saves to rank eighth in the SSC…boasted a career-best 0.64 goals against average to rank third in the SSC…finished the season with a 11-5-1 record.

2010: Named NSCAA All-South Region Second Team…chosen to the All-Sunshine State Conference First Team…selected as D2 Sports Insider Women’s Soccer Player of the Week and College Soccer 360 Primetime Performer of the Week for the week of November 15-21…earned two consecutive SSC Defensive Player of the Week awards for the weeks of October 18 and October 31…started all 22 games in net for the Panthers…faced 232 shots, making 86 saves and only allowing 17 goals for a miniscule goals against average of 0.76 and an outstanding save percentage of .835, the best in conference…tallied eight shutouts, the second-most in conference, including one against Rollins (11/14) in a 2-0 win in the second round of the NCAA tournament…finished with a 10-7-5 record.

2009: Appeared in four games and made one start…held West Georgia (9/13) and Palm Beach Atlantic (9/22) scoreless…received her first collegiate start and picked up the win in the Panthers’ 2-1 victory at Lynn (9/26)…against the Knights, she faced eight shots and made two saves.

2008: Played in three games and totaled nearly 85 minutes…did not allow a single goal versus Christian Brothers (8/29) and St. Thomas (9/17).

High School: Attended Menntaskolinn I Reykjavik…played soccer.

Club: Played 12 years of soccer for Keflavik FC, KR FC and IR FC…collected many awards, including best youth goalkeeper and most promising player…helped her team win their division, league and national cup.

Personal: Born June 13, 1988…daughter of Elias Georgsson and Birna Yr Thorsdottir…visited Florida Tech and fell in love with the campus…would like to earn her master’s and pursue a career in marine biology…enjoys reading, traveling, playing sports and playing the piano and guitar in her spare time…admires her mother…favorite athlete is Zinedine Zidane…favorite words of wisdom are “It’s good to be important, but it’s more important to be good.”…favorite book and movie is Lord of the Rings…favorite music is rock and favorite music group is Muse…favorite vacation spot is Husafell, Iceland…would like to visit Africa, Japan, Egypt and Kongo one day.
