Ben Klimczak enters his third season as assistant swimming coach at Florida Tech, a position he has held since September 2023.
In the 2023–24 season, Klimczak played a key role in helping Florida Tech send two athletes—freshman Akos Hajagos and junior Katherine Helminiak—to the NCAA Championships. Working closely with Hajagos, he helped guide the freshman to a historic runner-up finish in the 200-yard butterfly, the highest individual NCAA placement in program history. Hajagos also earned First-Team All-America honors in the 200 fly and All-America Honorable Mention in the 400 IM. Under Klimczak’s guidance, the men’s team also reached a season-high No. 19 national ranking in the CSCAA Top 25 poll.
Prior to Florida Tech, Klimczak served as an assistant coach with the Plantation Swimming Team beginning in 2022 and previously spent time as a seasonal assistant at Nova Southeastern University from 2021–22, helping both the men’s and women’s programs reach the NCAA Division II Championships, including a third-place national finish for the women.
A former NCAA Division III Scholar-Athlete at Wabash College, Klimczak competed from 2017–2019 and helped set multiple program records while contributing to the team’s best-ever finish at the NCAC Championships in 2019.
He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Classics from Wabash College in 2021, with minors in psychology and history.
