Marcus Montgomery joined the Florida Tech coaching staff in May of 2026 ahead of the 2025-27 season.
Before getting into coaching, Marcus was a college basketball player at Spalding University in Louisville, Kentucky. He was 3-time All-Conference selection and a 1,000 point scorer.
He comes to Florida Tech after a stint as a graduate assistant at Longwood University for two years, specializing in player development, leading and assisting on the court workouts and film video in 2024-2026. Before Longwood University, Marcus was an assistant coach at Wittenberg University 2023-2024 in Springfield Ohio. His main roles were player development and recruiting, helping the team go 19-8 and make it to the conference semi-finals.
Originally from Louisville Kentucky, Marcus is the son of Vickie and Anthony Montgomery, and has two siblings AJ and Marisa. He holds degrees in Sports Administration and Business Marketing, which he earned at Spalding in 2021. Marcus also received a master's degree in Business Administration at Longwood University in the spring of 2026.
