MELBOURNE, Fla. (Volleyball) – The Florida Tech volleyball team (2-11, 0-5 SSC) dropped a straight set match to Saint Leo (9-5, 3-2 SSC) on Saturday in Sunshine State Conference action at the Clemente Center.
Saint Leo stifled the Panthers in the three sets, winning by scores of 25-12, 25-19 and 25-21. The Lions hit 0.267 for the match while FIT attacked at a rate of 0.059. SLU ended with a slight edge in blocks 10-9.
Kelly Germain led the Panthers with eight kills on a hit rate of 0.136.
Olivia Hersey added six kills but she did most of her work on defense, finishing with nine total blocks.
Kiersten Rosa dished out 21 assists to go along with six digs and two block assists.
Becca Bower recorded a match-high 16 digs.
Britt Sederholm guided the Lions with 10 kills on 0.346 hitting and six digs. Victoria Omoregie collected six kills, while Maddy Powell added six kills, a match-high 26 assists and six digs. Annabella Arcari notched five kills and six total blocks. Jamee Townsend led the Lions with 12 digs.
