MIAMI SHORES, Fla. (Men's Soccer) – With each point crucial as the 2016 regular season winds down,
Evan Enders came up big for Florida Tech Tuesday night, scoring twice in a 2-0 shutout over Barry.
The Holy Trinity product opened scoring in the 19
th minute, heading home a cross from
Josh Thomas. The Panthers were able to hold that lead into the half, outshooting the Buccaneers 7-5 and leading in corner kicks by a healthy 6-1 margin.
Things began to get chippy in the second half, with three yellow cards being shown within just over four minutes on two separate occasions.
With less than nine minutes remaining in the game, Enders gave the Panthers some insurance. The junior collected a cross from
Tobias Hildmann and fired it into the back of the net from 10 yards out.
The Bucs turned up the heat in the second half, peppering eight shots in the period for a total of 13. However, only six of BU's shots were on goal, all of which were turned away by freshman
Christian Moerch.
The Panthers will not have much rest before their next game, taking on Warner on Wednesday in Lake Whales, Florida. A link to live stats will be available at FloridaTechSports.com.
