MIAMI SHORES, Fla. (Women's Soccer) -Â Returning to conference play, Florida Tech (5-5-2, SSC 2-3-0) kept pace with SSC second-ranked Barry (5-2-2, SSC 4-1-0) on Saturday night, but dropped in an overtime thriller, 1-0, at Buccaneer Field.
As a team, the Panthers notched six corner kicks and 16 shots, eight of which were on goal. Individually, sophomore midfielder
Maria Munoz tallied five shots, putting two of them on goal. With the loss, the Weston product now takes first place for shots with 45. In addition, redshirt-senior midfielder Elin Svennson and freshman midfielder
Monica Zabian pitched in with three shots each, with Svensson and Zabian placing two and one on goal respectively.

In the first half, the Buccaneers got things going, delivering three back-to-back shots just nine minutes into the match. In the 15Â minute of the game, redshirt-senior defender
Brie Heitz sent a shot to the Buccaneers net, but the Barry goalie was there for the save.Â
For the Panthers, Munoz, Svensson and Zabian shot once apiece, but two went wide of the goal and one was saved by the Buccaneers goalie. Heading into the intermission, neither team was able to net a shot, as the scoreboard remained untouched at the end of the first half.
Returning from halftime, FIT picked up its offensive tempo, tallying three shots and two corner kicks in a four-minute span. In the 51 minute, Barry retaliated with two shots in one minute, but could not find the net, as one sailed high and the other intercepted by Prisco.
At the 66-minute mark, Munoz drove another shot into the Barry end zone to give the Panthers a scoring opportunity. Although the shot was blocked, FIT created another four chances in an eight-minute span, but the Buccaneers cleared it away to hold on the remainder of the period.
As the score remained unchanged at the end of regulation, the match was forced into overtime. Counting down the final minutes in the first overtime, Barry scored the game-winning goal with three minutes left to play.
