Florida Tech shoots season low 6-for-31 from long range in 93-79 defeat to Palm Beach Atlantic on Saturday

MELBOURNE, Fla. - The Florida Tech men's basketball team was unable to recover from a cold shooting day and fell to Sunshine State Conference foe Palm Beach Atlantic, 93-79, at the Clemente Center on Saturday afternoon.

FIT is now 6-7 overall and 1-4 in SSC play. The Panthers drop to 0-3 in conference home games this season. PBA improves its record to 9-8 and 3-3 in the SSC.

Sam Daniel led Florida Tech with 24 points and five rebounds. Jordan Majors added 21 points, five boards and three assists and Richard Coil registered his fourth straight game with a double-double, seventh of the season, on 18 points and 10 rebounds. In his first appearance of the year, Patrick Anderson ended with three points, four assists, four steals, three rebounds and two blocks.

Jules Jasmin guided PBA with a game-high 27 points. Marshall Riddle and De'Ondre Jackson scored 14 and 12 points, respectively.

PBA held the Panthers to its third worst shooting game of the season at 42.6 percent (26-for-61) and a season low 19.4 percent (6-for-31) from long range. The six made three pointers was also a season low.

The Sailfish shot 54 percent (34-for-63) from the field, second highest allowed by FIT this year, and 38.5 percent from three (10-for-26).

PBA outscored FIT 46-38 in the paint and 45-3 in bench points. The Panthers won the rebounding battle, 35-33.

The Sailfish jumped out to a 9-2 lead on a steal and fast break dunk by Jasmin at the 16:50 mark of the first half. FIT fought back and took its first lead of the game, 12-11, on a trey by Majors with 14:30 remaining.

PBA took over from there, building its advantage to as much as 15 points before going into halftime with a 50-36 lead.

The Sailfish's lead hit a game-high 17 points, 67-50, on Milos Krostic's three pointer with 13:10 to go. FIT cut the deficit to six, 75-69, on a jumper by Majors, following a steal by Anderson, with 5:44 remaining.

However, PBA held off the Panthers' comeback and regained control in the final minutes, eventually winning by a 14-point margin.
